Our Story
A friendship that started
on a gravel road
Nomad is not a corporate rental company. It's the result of two friends, thirty years of shared adventures, and a deep belief that Chile is one of the greatest road-trip destinations on earth.

How it all began
They were six years old.
Renzo and Pablo first crossed paths at a campsite in southern Chile when they were six years old. Their families had both arrived independently — two vans pulling in on the same dusty track, the same evening, to the same clearing by a river. By the next morning, the kids were inseparable.
That chance meeting turned into a tradition. For years, both families returned to Chile's roads each summer — the Atacama, the Lake District, the Carretera Austral. They learned to read weather, to navigate gravel without GPS, to cook a proper meal on a two-burner stove, and to find the best wild camping spots before anyone else knew they existed.
The friendship held across different paths in adulthood. Renzo turned his passion into a profession, founding Nomade Motorhomes eight years ago and building it into one of Chile's most respected campervan rental operations. Pablo followed a career in marketing and technology — but never stopped traveling, and never stopped thinking about how to bring that childhood feeling to more people.
Nomad is what happens when those two paths finally merge: the operational depth and local knowledge of someone who has lived and breathed Chilean roads for eight years, combined with the tools and perspective to make that experience accessible to international travellers.
We are not guides. We are not a booking platform. We are two Chileans who want you to fall in love with our country the same way we did — from the seat of a campervan, with nowhere to be and everywhere to go.
The team
Meet the founders
Between them, more than three decades on Chilean roads.

Renzo
Co-founder · Fleet & Operations
Renzo has spent the last eight years running Nomade Motorhomes, the Chilean operation behind Nomad. He knows every campsite, every gravel section and every fuel station on the Carretera Austral by memory. He's driven them hundreds of times.
His expertise is in the details that actually matter on a long trip: vehicle reliability, route planning for different skill levels, and the kind of local knowledge that only comes from growing up on these roads. Every camper in our fleet passes through his hands before it reaches yours.
When he's not working, he's fly fishing on a river somewhere in Patagonia.

Fabrizio
Co-founder · Fleet & Operations
Fabrizio is Renzo's brother and co-founder of Nomade Motorhomes. He has spent years working alongside Renzo building and maintaining the fleet, and shares the same deep familiarity with Chile's roads and landscapes.
His focus is on the mechanical and logistical side of the operation: keeping every camper in top condition and making sure the handover experience is seamless for every traveller who rents with us.
When he's not in the workshop or out on the road, you'll find him exploring off-grid routes that haven't made it onto any map yet.

Pablo
Marketing & Product Manager
Pablo built his career in marketing and technology, working on products used by thousands of people, but he never stopped spending his summers in a campervan. He brings the perspective of someone who has experienced both worlds: the operational reality of Chilean road travel, and the friction points that international visitors face when trying to plan a trip here.
His role at Nomad is to make the experience feel as good before and after the trip as it does on the road. From the first enquiry through to the moment you hand back the keys.
Outside of work he's either chasing waves somewhere along the South American coastline or wading a Patagonian river with a fly rod.
How we work
The principles that guide every decision we make.
Freedom first
We believe travel is best experienced on your own terms. Our job is to hand you the keys and step back — while being there if you need us.
Radical honesty
We tell you what a route is really like — road conditions, distances, weather risks. No sugar-coating, because your safety matters more than a sale.
Local roots
We are Chileans. We know this country's roads, rhythms and hidden gems in a way no international rental chain ever could.
Responsible travel
We partner with Leave No Trace initiatives, offset fleet emissions and train every renter on protecting Chile's fragile ecosystems.
