About this destination
Torres del Paine National Park sits at the southern tip of Chilean Patagonia, 2,500 km south of Santiago. It's a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve protecting a landscape that seems almost too dramatic to be real: the iconic three granite towers soaring 2,800 metres, turquoise lakes carved by glaciers, and condors riding thermals overhead. The park is best explored by campervan, you can drive between viewpoints, and move at your own pace rather than following a tour group.

Must-see stops
Mirador Las Torres
The classic viewpoint looking up at the three granite towers. A 4-hour hike from the campsite absolutely worth it at sunrise.
Grey Glacier
A massive glacier flowing into Lago Grey. You can get very close by boat or on foot. Watch for icebergs calving into the water.
Valle del Francés
The 'French Valley' is ringed by hanging glaciers and avalanche zones. The sound of ice cracking is extraordinary.
Lago Pehoé
The most photographed lake in the park, bright turquoise water with the Cuernos del Paine rising behind it. Best at golden hour.
